The Walt Disney Company has made a huge business out of creating fantasy-filled theme parks and kingdoms around the world that attract millions of visitors every year.

The entertainment giant now plans to transform a patch of its Orlando resort into a new type of luxury-meets-immersion hotel meant to feel more like a galaxy far, far away.

In a declaration a month ago at the fan event D23 Expo, Walt Disney Parks, and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek reported that the organization is arranging a “revolutionary vacation experience” for Walt Disney World: an extravagance resort that inundates visitors in the universe of Star Wars.

“It’s unlike anything that exists today,” he said.

Chapek said visitors will have a “dedicated multi-day adventure” complete with “starship transportation,” characters, costumes, storylines, windows that show a view into space, and status as “an active citizen of the galaxy.”

“It is 100 percent immersive and the story will touch every single minute of your stay with us,” he said. “It culminates in a unique journey for every person who visits.”

Of course, the declaration has lead fans — and numerous authors — to swoon. HuffPost ran a story with this feature: “Hold up, This “Immersive” ‘Star Wars’- Themed Hotel Looks Awesome.”

Robert Niles, author, and editorial manager of Theme Park Insider, said that while the organization had plenty of declarations at the occasion a month ago, few of them were pivotal. The Star Wars hotel stood out.

“This is why I think so many people are really excited and intrigued by this concept,” he said. “It truly is something different for Disney.”

Guests would be able to choose if they wanted to watch or participate in a story, and would have themed activities to participate in. Meals, entertainment, admission to a new Star Wars-themed land at Disney Hollywood Studios, and the service of a robotic droid butler would all be included at a price of $900-$1,000 per guest, the story said.

All of the employees (or ‘cast members’, in Disney Park lingo) will be in costume and in character

Each guest will get a storyline, which Disney specifically says will “touch every single minute of your day”

It’s meant to take place on a space ship; ‘windows’ will only show space.

Disney has made colossal moves with the licensed innovation — IP in industry speech — of Lucasfilm, which the organization purchased in 2012 for more than $4 billion. Notwithstanding making more Star Wars motion pictures, Disney is building 14-section of land themed increments called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at parks in Orlando and Anaheim, California. Those terrains open in 2019.
